Legion season winding down
The American and Junior Legion postseasons are set to begin. The Libby-Mitchell team, featuring players from Scarborough, finished the regular year at 14-4 and will be the No. 3 seed for the postseason. Morrill Post (Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough) went 12-5 and will be the No. 4 seed. Only four teams make the zone playoffs this season and the winner will be determined by the end of the weekend. The Junior Legion standings feature Cape Elizabeth-populated Coastal Athletics at 11-5, Scarborough's Libby-Mitchell at 10-6 and South Portland at 6-8. The top 10 teams make the playoffs, which are being held this week. We'll have more on the postseason in next week's edition.
