10/12 at 12:23 p.m. Officer Peter Nappi pulled over a blue Toyota Corolla on Black Point Road for erratic operation and the driver allegedly told him he forgot his license at home. He reportedly said his name was Joseph Smith. No one matching the reported name and date of birth came up in the system, at which point the man allegedly admitted his name was Wade Roma. Roma, 21, of Westbrook, was arrested and charged with operating when a license was suspended or revoked, failure to give a correct name and violating conditions of release. Three hours later, officers connected Roma with a burglary on Spurwink Road by allegedly matching the shoes he was wearing when he was arrested with a footprint from the door that was smashed in at the residence. After obtaining a warrant for the vehicle, officers allegedly discovered items including jewelry, an L.L. Bean bag and a Nintendo in the trunk of the car.
