Arrests

4/30 at 9:54 a.m. Reece Champlin, 25, of Merrill Brook Drive, was arrested by Officer Timothy Dalton on charges of violation of probation or parole and violating bail conditions.

4/30 at 10:36 p.m. Sharri Lynn James, 45, of Portland, was arrested at the Downeaster Motel by Officer Brian Nappi on a charge of disorderly conduct.

5/1 at 12:41 p.m. Arther Walker, 79, of South Portland, was arrested at Wal-Mart Super Center by Officer Robert Moore on charges of operating under the influence and refusing a Breathalyzer test with two prior OUIs, and operating after a license was suspended or revoked due to prior OUI and OAS offenses.

5/2 at 10:09 p.m. Meagan Westervelt, 24, of Westbrook, was arrested at the Downeaster Motel by Officer Timothy Dalton on two prior Scarborough warrants, a warrant for another agency and assault.

5/2 at 10:09 p.m. Douglas Story, 41, of Route 1, was arrested at the Downeaster Motel by Officer Timothy Dalton on charges of assault and violating bail conditions.

4/27 at 2:07 a.m. Theodore Ware, 24, of Sanford, was summonsed by Officer Garrett Strout on a charge of operating after a license was suspended or revoked.

4/27 at 10:57 a.m. A 14-year-old was summonsed at Scarborough Middle School by Detective Robert Pellerin on a charge of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.

4/28 at 4:58 p.m. Myra Letourneau, 40, of Gorham, was summonsed on Gorham Road by Officer Robert Nguyen on a charge of failing to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle.

4/30 at 2:47 a.m. Edward Needham, 20, of Pumpkin Lane, was summonsed on Pine Point Road by Officer Andrew Flynn on a charge of possession of marijuana.

5/1 at 8 p.m. Benjamin Woodcock, Jr., 24, of Westbrook, was summonsed at Wal-Mart Super Center by Officer Brian Nappi on a charge of operating after a license was suspended or revoked with a prior OUI offense.

Middle-school Facebook drug sales

4/27 at 10:57 a.m. After an online investigation of two middle school students, police summonsed a 14-year-old boy for selling Ritalin, marijuana and Zoloft, and a 13-year-old girl for providing her prescriptions for the boy to sell. The police discovered the plot on Facebook. Both students' parents were called to the school and made aware of the issue.

Sex offender on house arrest leaves in cab

4/30 at 9:54 a.m. A caller reported that a registered sex offender on Merrill Brook Drive, who was on house arrest, had left his house. Reese Champlin, 25, reportedly returned to his house in a taxi not long after he left because the credit card he used to pay for the taxi had been declined. He was arrested on charges of violation of parole and for violating bail conditions.

Gold Cadillac driver drunk at Wal-Mart

5/1 at 12:41 p.m. Police responded to a caller reporting an older male sitting, intoxicated, in a gold Cadillac in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Upon arrival, police allegedly discovered the car's front tire was blown out and torn open. The male, 79-year-old Arther Walker, of South Portland, reportedly told police he hit a curb on his way to the store. He was given a Breathalyzer test and his blood-alcohol level was reportedly .23, far beyond the legal limit of .08. He was arrested on charges of operating under the influence with two prior OUIs and operating after a suspension.
