Arrests

3/8 at 12:29 p.m. Joseph Porta, 23, of Portland was arrested by Officer Garrett Strout on a charge of operating with a suspended or revoked license. 

3/8 at 2:38 p.m. Thomas Sargent, 36, of Saco, was arrested by Officer Garrett Strout on a charge of violation of probation or parole.

3/8 at 2:38 p.m. William Wilcox, 40, of Westbrook, was arrested at Cabelas by Officer Garrett Strout on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

3/9 at 1:41 a.m. Joshua Stoehner, 24, of Coachlantern Lane, was arrested by Officer Brian Nappi at Blackpoint Road and Route 1 on charges of operating while a license was suspended or revoked, violating the condition of release, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a suspended or fictitious license.

3/10 at 1:54 p.m. Joann Freeman, 50, of Old Orchard Beach, was arrested by Officer Garrett Strout on charges of operating after a license was suspended or revoked, violating the conditions of release, and an arrest warrant from another agency.

3/10 at 1:54 p.m. Normand Gagne, 50, of Biddeford, was arrested by Officer Garrett Strout on charges of unlawful possession of Oxycodone, two charges of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, and an arrest warrant from another agency.

3/12 at 6:45 p.m. Christopher Legen, 28, of Shelton, Conn., was arrested by Officer Timothy Dalton on an arrest warrant from another agency.

3/13 at 12:54 p.m. Justin Raschack, 22, of Gorham, was arrested at Bull Moose Music by Officer Michael Beeler on a charge of unauthorized taking or transfer.

3/13 at 9:30 p.m. Erin Ferreira, 32, of Oceanview Road, was arrested by Officer Timothy Dalton on a charge of operating under the influence.

3/14 at 4:50 a.m. A 14-year-old was arrested at Black Point Road and Stone Road by Officer Andrew Flynn on charges of operation of a vehicle without a license and theft by unauthorized use of property.

3/9 at 10:36 a.m. Carrie Alward, 28, of Griffin Road, was summonsed by Officer Garrett Strout on a charge of operating after a license was suspended or revoked.

3/10 at 9:22 a.m. Nina Anzaldua, no age provided, was summonsed by Officer Andrew Flynn on Gorham Road on a charge of operating after a suspension.

3/13 at 8:03 p.m. Robert Renna, 24, of Scabbard Road, was summonsed by Officer Scott Vaughan on Pleasant Hill Road and Highland Avenue on a charge of sale or use of drug paraphernalia.

Getting Lost

3/8 at 2:38 p.m. A man allegedly attempted to shoplift four Garmin GPS devices worth $200 a piece from Cabelas. When a Cabelas employee confronted him, William Wilcox, 40, of Westbrook, took off running, dropping his jacket, a black Old Navy hat and two of the GPS devices in the process, according to police. Police located him in the woods behind the store shortly afterward and arrested him.

A Betting Man

3/9 at 12:01 p.m. According to police, a man at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge on Spring Street attempted to pass seven checks totaling $1,330, all of which were returned for insufficient funds. The man was allegedly attempting to get cash to use the betting machine on the premises.

Quick Thinking

3/11 at 7:10 p.m. A woman called the fire department when a candle she was burning near her washing machine caught her laundry on fire. According to police, she threw the burning clothes in the bathtub and closed the bathroom door. The fire department responded to the scene and spent less than an hour putting out the fire, which was contained to the bathroom. Both the washing machine and dryer, as well as the fiberglass bathtub were damaged in the fire and had to be removed.

Questionable Taste

3/13 at 12:54 p.m. A man allegedly attempted to shoplift five CDs from Bull Moose Music, including a Kanye West album and two Incubus discs. When Justin Raschack, 22, of Gorham, realized the Bull Moose staff was onto him, he discarded the CDs and left the store running, according to police reports. Police located him near the loading dock behind Sam's Club, where he was arrested.

No License to Steal

3/14 at 4:50 a.m. Police allegedly caught a 14-year-old girl from Acton driving a stolen 2010 Mazda at Black Point Road and Stone Road. The car was stolen from a home in Sanford that had been burglarized two days earlier. The victim said his car keys had been stolen during the burglary. The girl was arrested at the scene and charged with operating a vehicle without a license and theft by unauthorized use of property.
