Damon of Falmouth, who died on June 15, 2006, at age 41 while stationed in Bagram, Afghanistan. Amidon, a dentist from York, was taking part in Sunday's 59-mile "Run for the Fallen" from Ogunquit to Monument Square in Portland. Participants ran one mile for each of Maine's soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
