Letter: Cape Elizabeth needs Governali on council

Please consider casting your vote to re-elect Frank Governali to the Cape Elizabeth Town Council. Last year, Frank ran to fill a vacant one-year term on the council. During this time, the council started down the path on some important initiatives that will be crucial to the future of Cape Elizabeth. In order to continue to make progress on these issues, knowing Frank, he had no alternative other than to run again, this time for a full three-year term. If you know him or have had the opportunity to get to know him this probably comes as no surprise.

As a citizen and St. Alban’s parishioner who tries to stay informed, whether it be in regard to school funding, parish issues or municipal budgets, I have often called on Frank to share his perspective. He has an incredible ability to disseminate and analyze large volumes of information available and necessary to draw a fair and balanced conclusion. Over the years, Frank has always been generous in sharing his knowledge of the issues, answering questions, providing clarification and listening in a nonjudgmental way to others on a wide range of issues.

These next three years, our town will have to maximize existing resources, be open to creative solutions and form mutually beneficial partnerships to meet our short and longing term planning needs. In my opinion, Frank’s unwavering commitment to thoroughly understand these issues makes him an excellent candidate for Town Council. Please join me by supporting his re-election on Nov. 2.
