Locals compete at New England track meet
Several runners, jumpers and throwers from the city competed at the New England outdoor track and field championships Saturday in Burlington, Vt.
The top finisher was the Cheverus 4x800 relay team. Juniors Taylor Dundas and Tim Woods, sophomore Jack Terwilliger and Andrew Snyder finished in a time of 7 minutes, 54.03 seconds, good for third. Terwilliger finished ninth in the two-mile (9:23.40). Woods was 12th in the 800 (1:57.81). Stags junior Beau Michaud finished 21st in the discus (142-3). Classmate John White was 22nd in the shot put (46 feet, 4 inches) and 23rd in the discus (140-7). Dundas placed 23rd in the mile (4:26.70).
On the girls' side, Cheverus sophomore Caroline Summa tied for 15th in the high jump (5 feet). Stags junior Hanna Lyons was 18th in the 100 (12.94 seconds). Cheverus junior Liana Rubinoff placed 18th in the two-mile (11:38.26). McAuley senior Olivia MacKenzie came in 18th in the mile (5:13.38). Cheverus sophomore Amelia Lundkvist placed 23rd in the mile (5:19.54).
