Harriette A. (Preble) Dingley Burt, 96: Enjoyed gardening, painting

PORTLAND — Harriette A. (Preble) Dingley Burt, 96, died peacefully Dec. 23 at her daughter Judy LaBonte's home.

On Jan. 5, 1913, she was born in Old Town, a daughter of Cora and Frank Preble.

Her interests included gardening, painting landscapes and socializing with her many friends. A lover of all animals, she was never without a dog in her life.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Ruth Burtrum, Hazel Guitard, Gladys Cohen, Robert Preble, and the love of her life, Everette Burt.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy LaBonte of Portland, and her son Robert Dingley and his wife Sylvia of California; four grandchildren, Michelle and Nicole LaBonte of Portland, Robert LaBonte of Florida, and Terina Estrella and her husband Armando of California; five great- grandchildren, Nicholas, Judi, and Michael LaBonte, all of Portland, and Makalia and Jordan Estrella of California; and her constant companion and beloved dog, Bridgette.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 at St. Joseph's Church on Stevens Ave. in Portland.

Arrangements are by Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland.
