JO volleyball team posts best finish yet

Greely's Michaela Campbell from Greely goes up for a spike during the season finale for the Portland North U-18 Gold Junior Olympic volleyball team Sunday. Greely's Sara Warnock (dropping into coverage) and Falmouth's Emma Wilberg (libero, in dark blue shirt) also took part, as did Falmouth's Kate Sparks and Alyssa Yeung, Greely's Erin Cadigan, Scarborough's Abby Lalone and Yarmouth's Kate Darrell. The team finished tied for fifth, its best showing ever.

"The girls really came together as a team today," said coach Andy Pohl. "It was the single best performance that I've seen from a Portland North 18 Gold team. The girls played good, consistent volleyball throughout the day. It was wonderful to see them play at such a high level for an extended period of time. It was a great end to a great season."
