Local softball team wins NH title

The U-16 Southern Maine Flame "red" softball team took first place in the Barbara Hamilton Memorial tournament in Nashua, N.H., last weekend. The team went undefeated, winning seven games, while outscoring their opponents 44-9. The team featured Ally Boyington and Lauren Nicholson from Cape Elizabeth, Alana Peoples from Scarborough, Katlin Norton from South Portland, Julie Dursema and Abbie Hutchinson from Yarmouth, Sam Schildroth from Hollis, Kayla Daigle, Sarah Gilblair, and Heather Fecteau from Biddeford, Jen Fields from Windham, and Amelia Pennington from Nobleboro, along with coaches Hal Dursema, Trent Hutchinson, Sam Pennington, Roger Boyington, Alan Peoples & David Fields.
