Northern School Notebook: Oct. 12
CUMBERLAND / NORTH YARMOUTH — With the first month of school behind them, the students of SAD 51 are working hard on academics, sports and arts programs, and are hoping to involve the entire Cumberland and North Yarmouth community in school events.
The fall sports teams have been training since mid-August and the season is well underway. Current Greely fall sporting events include cross-country meets at Twin Brook, golf tournaments at Valhalla, and soccer, field hockey, volleyball, and football games at the high school.
All athletes love fans! Greely athletes would love to have you cheering them on to victory. So next time you’re looking for some local, affordable, family entertainment, come out and see the strong and spirited Rangers competing against rivals from around the state. Football charges a small fee for non-students, but the rest of the fall games are now free for all spectators.
Many students are also involved in Greely’s fantastic arts programs. Actors in drama, musicians in the school band, and singers in chorus are practicing for performances to come in the next few months. More details about the performances will follow as they draw closer. There’s something for everyone, whether it’s sports, drama or music.
So show those Greely colors and come enjoy a game or other event. Hope to see you there!
For a complete schedule of all sporting events, please go to highschoolsports.net, type in the word Greely under “My School,” and select the sport you would like a schedule for.
