David J. M. Parsons, 64: Enjoyed time on Birch Island
CUMBERLAND FORESIDE — David J. M. Parsons, 64, died Aug. 10 at Maine Medical Center after battling ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease.
On Sept. 21, 1944, he was born in Boston, a triplet child of William Victor and Hannah Parsons.
He graduated from Newton South High School and attended college.
His career included working for Ericson Corp. and Executone. With his companion, Posie Ford, he owned and operated Bridge Street Bistro in Ashtabula, Ohio until 2008.
He especially enjoyed spending time on Birch Island.
He was predeceased by a brother, Rev. William Parsons.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Parsons of Providence, R.I., and Erica DeCoste of Greeley, Colo.; one brother, Rev. Reginald Parsons of Jacksonsville, Fla., and four sisters, Elsie Chase of Naples, Fla., Hannah Dean Rist and her husband Stuart of Portsmouth, N.H., Dorothy Roberts and her husband Raymond of Newton, Mass., and Deborah Davidson and her husband Stephen of Leciester, England; and a sister-in-law, Marcia Roubik.
A graveside burial service will be held this fall at Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton, Mass.
