YARMOUTH — Jeanette Asherman Lamb, 85, died March 25 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.

She was born on March 13, 1924, in Memphis, Tenn., to Vernon A. and Della (Nabors) White. She attended Memphis State University.

In 1986, she moved to Yarmouth, where she lived for 12 years until she married her longtime friend, Herb Lamb of Wolfeboro, N.H., in 1998. They traveled the world extensively together. Following his death in 2004, she returned to Yarmouth.

She was predeceased by her eldest son, Aldon M. Asherman Jr., while he served in Vietnam in 1966; her first husband, Aldon, in 1982; and second husband, Herb, in 1998.
