Letter: Woodbury dissolves party lines

Dick Woodbury, independent candidate for state Senate District 11, bridges party differences with common sense, independent thinking and the ability to unite people around fresh solutions.

Woodbury’s talents for envisioning the future and crafting long-term solutions, demonstrated during three successful terms as a state representative, distinguish him as a leader who is eminently right for the times. Appointed chairman of two committees during his legislative years, highlighted by his chairmanship of the bipartisan tax committee, Woodbury brings experience and a reputation for across-the-aisle collaboration to move the mountain and get business done. His fiscal views embrace business, spending control and disciplined tax policies. And, as a Harvard-schooled economist, Woodbury brings the intellectual capacity to challenge complex issues and articulate sound solutions.

Endorsed by the Maine League of Conservation Voters and a recipient of the National Federation of Independent Businesses Guardian of Small Business Award, Woodbury understands the balance between business and environment and will work to champion both.

Voters have the opportunity to put our house in order with the upcoming elections. Woodbury's experience, passion to serve and ability to get democrats and republicans to work together are a fresh answer to tired party politics. Dick Woodbury knows and loves Maine. He is right for the times and is what Maine needs right now.

Voters like us, from both parties, can vote for Woodbury with confidence and know they are sending their best candidate to Augusta.
