Letter: Falmouth teacher a 'father figure'

My son spent a great year in Paul Rosenblum's Falmouth class, and when he got an award from the Red Cross three years later he wanted Paul at the ceremony to share that moment with our family. I volunteered over 40 hours in Rosenblum's class. At all times Paul was an outstanding example and teacher for his class. All the students admired him.

The "mock wedding" and parent reaction to it are only important in the minds of people who haven't had the pleasure of being around Paul on an ongoing basis. The fact that his class wanted him to do this speaks to how much the class thinks of him as a family member, like a father figure. I believe the expression "tempest in a teapot" was written for a situation such as this.
