Letter: Falmouth councilor backs Richard

Mainers are suffering. Maine must go in a new direction. Complicated, it is not. Maine’s existing bureaucracy has ballooned, supporting programs of “wants” and not “needs.” It has ignored our current economic environment. No matter how well intended the legislators may be their tax-and-spend philosophy has brought our state to fiscal insecurity.

Simply said, tough fiscal times call for sensible budgeting and spending. Legislative bills are crafted in the House of Representatives. Decisions begin at this level. Mark Richard recognizes that changes are needed. He is prepared to focus on clear common-sense strategies which will result in common-sense methods that will address issues confronting Mainers. This is not the time for academic approaches to policy and procedure. This is the time for action that will support our Maine values of independence and prosperity. Please recognize the necessity of moving Maine in a new direction by supporting Mark Richard for state representative.
