Letter: Support Falmouth Food Pantry

Thank you to Emily Parkhurst for her well-balanced and sensitive article about the Falmouth Food Pantry. It was clear that she sought information from several sources and her written piece reflected both the human side and the practical aspects of the pantry.  Both Peter and Barbara are to be thanked for sharing some personal details of their lives with The Forecaster.

It is important to point out that the Falmouth Food Pantry serves over 140 families, ranging in size from single individuals to those who have a good number of children and even elderly parents who live with them. Without the generosity of all of our local churches, the staff at the Town Hall, every local civic organization, individuals from all walks of life, and the hard work of almost 50 dedicated volunteers we could not exist.

On Thursday, Oct. 21, there will be an opportunity for all concerned to help keep the pantry viable.  A free Community Supper will be held at the Falmouth Congregational Church from 5-6:30 p.m.  The supper will be open to all and we are inviting voluntary donations.  Please watch for upcoming information and join us for an evening of good food and fellowship.
