3/20 at 6:55 p.m. Barbara McHugh, 46, of Brackett Street, Portland, was arrested by Sgt. Frank Soule and charged with operating under the influence with three-plus priors.

3/13 at 2:42 p.m. The animal control officer responded to a call that an Australian Sheepdog was running loose on Mountain Road. A scan of the dog revealed it had a microchip with the owner's information so the officer was able to return the animal to its home.

Friday night lights

3/13 at 9:14 p.m. Police received a complaint that someone was lighting off fireworks from a snowbank in front of Regal Cinema on Route 1 Friday night. Although responding officers found evidence of fireworks, they were unable to locate anyone who had set them off.

Will open doors for money

3/18 at 11:20 a.m. A woman was badly frightened but unhurt while sitting in her car at the Falmouth Shopping Center. A "scruffy-looking" white man in his forties opened her car door and asked for money and food to help him return to Boston. She managed to close the door; then locked all her doors and called police. When officers arrived, they were unable to locate the man but believed he had ducked into one of the stores in the shopping center.
