Kids drinking

7/10 at 9:13 p.m. After hearing "through the law enforcement grapevine" that a group of kids were having a party in a Cumberland Fairgrounds barn, a police unit paid a visit and discovered a large group of underage kids drinking, according to Lt. Milt Calder. More units responded, and seven summonses were issued to kids from Falmouth, North Yarmouth and Yarmouth. Three were 17-year-old boys, two were 16-year-old girls and two were 15-year-old girls. Parents were called to pick up their kids and sign summonses. Calder said police will soon meet with representatives at Cumberland Fairgrounds to discuss how to handle future rentals of the barn. Calder said the group who threw the party rented the facility under the name of a group that had previously rented the barn without incident. Calder said no more dances will be allowed in the barn.
