John L. Lacasse, 75
BATH — John L. Lacasse died Dec. 6 at Maine Medical Center.
Born Oct. 5, 1927 in New Bedford, Mass, he lived most of his life on Cape Cod before moving to Bath in 2007. He attended Vermont Academy and was stationed in Germany for eight years at the end of WWII. He was a Massachusetts state trooper for 22 years before retiring as staff sargent in 1977.
An avid reader, he loved solving the cryptogram each morning in the Boston Herald. He was a duplicate bridge player and joined the Bath Senior Center and played contract bridge there as well as cribbage. A true conservative, he loved his daily dose of Neil Cavuto and Bill O'Reilly. He loved living in Maine and often said that he should have moved sooner.
Lacasse is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathleen Lacasse and their close friend Diane Nicol; brothers-in-law James Peros and his wife Peggy of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Shane Peros and his wife Barbara of Yarmouth Port, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Desmond's Funeral Home.
