Topsham seeks names for ‘Military Triangle’

TOPSHAM — The Board of Selectmen and Topsham Development are looking for input on names for the “Military Triangle” at the Topsham Annex, which is closing next year as part of the Brunswick Naval Air Station shutdown.

The triangle’s 12 acres include a commissary, marine barracks and army recruiting office. It is being prepared for redevelopment as a low-intensity office and commercial business site. The new name is meant to reflect the community’s goals for this parcel.

Suggestions should be submitted no later than July 15 to Economic and Community Development Director John Shattuck at 373-5097 or, preferably, at jshattuck@topshammaine.com.

The Board of Selectmen will hear a final recommendation on Aug. 5.
