Armand B. Skolfield, 96
BRUNSWICK — Armand Brigham Skolfield, 96, died June 16 at Amenity Manor in Topsham.
He was born in Portland, a son of Ansel and Nellie (Brigham) Skolfield, and graduated from Portland High School in 1932.
As a machinist, he worked for various employers, including Pejepscot Paper, Cabot Mill, Hyde Windlass, The Portland Company, and eventually retired from Bath Iron Works in 1975.
He was a member of the United Lodge Number 8, A.F. & A.M., for 64 years, and a charter member of Wil Ryder Bowling League.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Avis Stimpson Skolfield on Nov. 16, 1951, and his second wife, Florence Labbe Skolfield on Nov. 14, 1996, and two brothers, Ansel and Sheldon Skolfield.
Surviving are his son, George Skolfield and his wife, Rachel of Harpswell; two granddaughters, Tenley Bennett and her husband, Wayne of Eagle Lake, Heidi Ahrberg and her husband, Bill of Arvada, Colo.; two great-granddaughters, Miranda Brannigan and her fiance Tyler Bruce of Brunswick, and Samantha Ahrberg of Arvada, Colo.; and a great- great-granddaughter, Acadia Edgerton of Brunswick; a special friend and companion, Agnes Eckert of Brunswick; a sister-in-law, Phylliss Little of DeLeon Springs, Fla.; and one niece and two nephews of Florida.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
