Nancy E. Doughty, 67

BRUNSWICK — Nancy E. Doughty, 67, died at home Sept. 1.

On Sept. 7, 1942, she was born in Portland, a daughter of Solomon M. and Eleanor C. Belfontaine Blanchard, and was educated in Falmouth schools.

For many years she worked in the housekeeping department at Mid Coast Hospital.

She was married to David S. Doughty, Sr., who died in June 1979.  

Her brother, John Blanchard, also predeceased her.

She is survived by three children, Linda A. Mitchell, David S. Doughty, Jr., and Nelson P. Doughty, all of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Lisa Mitchell, David Doughty III, Amanda Doughty, and Amber Doughty; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert Blanchard of Dixfield, and seven sisters, Mary Seiler of Michigan, Patricia Faunce of South Portland, Barbara Bracy of Southwest Harbor, Carol Layden of North Carolina, Elizabeth Alley of Lubec, Eleanor Blanchard of Portland and Margaret Brown of South Portland.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
