6/18 at 9:51 p.m. Buddy Sherwoods Burton, 29, of 48 Dunn Corner, Mount Vernon, was arrested on charges of operating after suspension, refusing to stop for police officer, failure to give correct name and address and refusing to sign criminal summons.

On second thought

6/18 at 9:51 p.m. Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputy Andy Schenk reported traveling south on Route 24 when a red Ford truck allegedly drove past in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed. Schenk eventually stopped the truck, at which point the male driver allegedly claimed he was someone else. Schenk ran a background check on the false identity, which turned out to have a warrant for his arrest. According to Shenk's report, the driver grew agitated and admitted that he had lied. After providing his real name, Buddy Sherwoods Burton, 29, of 48 Dunn Corner, Mount Vernon, was arrested on charges of operating after suspension (habitual offender), refusing to stop for police officer, failure to give correct name and address and refusing to sign criminal summons. His court date at West Bath District court is Aug. 3.
