SOUTH PORTLAND — The Conservation Commission on Saturday, Oct. 2, will pick up litter at Spring Point Beach from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of Maine Coastweek 2010.
The public is invited to join the commission in cleaning the beach, located near Spring Point Light on the Southern Maine Community College campus. People may also organize their own beach clean-up by registering at MaineCoastalProgram.org.
Trash bags will be provided at Spring Point, but people should bring their own work gloves. Waste will be hauled by public works.
