PORTLAND — Comedian Bob Marley this week will try to break the Guinness World Record for “longest stand-up comedy show by an individual.”

Marley will attempt the feat at the Comedy Connection on Custom House Wharf. He is scheduled to begin his show Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 7 a.m. and end Saturday morning, Sept. 25, just after midnight.

The current record of 38 hours 6 minutes is held by Lindsay Webb of Australia.

The event will benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center. For tickets, go to mmc.org/bobmarley.
