BRUNSWICK — Colleen Fay Wilbur, 86, died Nov. 1 at Mid Coast Hospital. Wilbur was born in Harmony on Oct. 10, 1926, a daughter of George and May Gilman Chadbourne. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1946, and married Ernest R. Wilbur in Minot in 1966.

Wilbur worked in shoe shops in Skowhegan, Harmony and Brunswick, and finally at Jay Brush in Brunswick, from where she retired in 1978.

She is predeceased by her husband, who died March 29, 2002; brothers Ray Chadbourne, George Chadbourne, Jr. and Clayton Chadbourne; and two sisters, Effie Gourley and Doris Blanchard.

Surviving are her two stepsons, Robert Wilbur, of Oakland, and Richard Wilbur, of Melbourne, Fla; her stepdaughter, Judy Wilbur, of Manchester, N.H.; three brothers, Norris Chadbourne and his wife, Hazel, and Clyde Chadbourne and his wife, Rosemarie, all of Cambridge, and Cecil Chadbourne and his wife, Meredith, of Harmony; two sisters, Emma Watson, of Harmony, and Lenora Watson and her husband, Richard, of Harmony; a sister-in-law, Peggy Chadbourne, of Harmony; a former sister-in-law, Victoria Viles, of Skowhegan; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family thanks Mid Coast Hospital and Dionne Commons for the excellent care provided.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, at the First Baptist Church in Harmony, with Pastor Henry Thibodaux officiating. Burial will follow at the Chadbourne Cemetery in Harmony.
