FREEPORT — The Coastal Studies for Girls staff will hold a series of open houses on Friday afternoons from noon to 3 p.m. through September.

The public is invited to attend any of the sessions, and will have an opportunity to learn about the nation’s first residential science and leadership semester school for girls.

In addition, the school is looking for volunteers to help with administrative duties, including stuffing and preparing mailings, database updates, school and donor research, Web site maintenance, e-newsletter writing, special events, general office assistance and occasional landscape maintenance. Volunteers are asked to be detail-oriented and efficient, keep donor information confidential, and have excellent computer and communication skills.

For information about the open house series or to volunteer, contact Margaret Martin at 865-9700. For information about the school, located at 308 Wolfe’s Neck Road, visit coastalstudiesforgirls.org.
