HARPSWELL — Nearly 2,500 residents were without power Tuesday morning after Hurricane Sandy.

Central Maine Power Co. spokesman John Carroll said 2,469 customers didn’t have electricity as of 9:30 a.m. He said it may take several days to restore power for some of them, while CMP assesses and repairs the damage.

Harpswell Community School remained open Tuesday, according to the superintendent’s office at School Administrative District 75.
