PORTLAND — Bradford Cleaves on Tuesday won a seat on the Portland Water District by a more than 2-1 margin.

According to preliminary results, Cleaves, of Salem Street, took more than 67 percent of the vote, besting competitor John Safarick, of Ivy Street, by a vote of 9,111 to 4,351.

In the race to represent Great Diamond Island on the Casco Bay Island Transit District, Roger Robinson edged Kathleen Hoffner by only 20 votes, 171-151. It was not immediately clear whether there would be a recount.

Patrick Flynn won an uncontested race to represent Peaks Island on the CBITD board.
