BRUNSWICK — Christopher Patrick Writt, 60, died Nov. 19 at Mid Coast Hospital following a long illness.

Writt was born in Hawaii on Sept. 27, 1952, the son of Lt. Cmdr. William W. and Elinor J. Writt, who both predeceased him.

He attended Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1970. He then went on to earn degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering from the University of Maine. While working as an engineer, he earned a private pilot’s license and spent many hours flying around the country in his Cessna 172, including a trip to the Oshkosh (Wisc.) Annual Fly-In.

He is survived by his brother, Frederick A. Writt, his wife, Colleen, and their children, Eva and Evan, of Falmouth; and his sister, Delia W. Austin, her husband, Glenn, and their children, Garrett and Keith, of Brunswick.

At Writt’s request there will be no services. A  private burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, alongside his parents.
