Cheverus has tabbed Steve Huntington as its new girls’ basketball coach. Huntington replaces Richie Ashley who stepped down earlier this fall. Huntington is a former assistant boys’ basketball coach at Scarborough. He played at Deering High School, as well as at Westbrook College and the University of New England. Huntington, a Scarborough resident, holds the UNE program record with 11 3-pointers in one game.
