BRUNSWICK — Charles Lodric Hewett, 63, died Sunday, Oct. 24 at his home.

Born in St Augustine, Fla., July 21, 1947, a son of Charles Carrie and Mary King Hewett, he was raised in the Jacksonville area.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at an early age and later served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

On Feb. 25, 1967, he married Marcia Bruce and settled in Brunswick where they raised a family and he worked as a welder at Bath Iron Works.

He was also an active member of the Brunswick American Legion.

His hobbies included camping, fishing, playing bingo and cooking. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marcia of Brunswick; two daughters, Lisa Richardson and her husband Bryant of Brunswick, and Tracy Hillman of Harpswell; three grandchildren, Brianne and Jamie Lee Richardson, and Ryan Hillman; a brother, Howard Hewett of Bowdoinham, and two sisters, Charlene Hewett and Kathy Hewett, both of Jacksonville, Fla.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.

Burial, with full military honors, will be held next spring at Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick.
