YARMOUTH — Chad Mathew Meier, 36, of Yarmouth, died Sept. 3 of injuries from an automobile accident.

Born on Jan. 4, 1975 in Portland, a son of Mary (Grant) and William Meier, he was educated in Yarmouth and Lakeland, Fla., schools.

Over the years he worked as a carpenter for his father and a number of Cumberland County contractors.

Summers on Swan’s Island held a very special place for him, as well as camping in the woods in Raymond. While he faced many challenges in his life, he was making progress and loved others unconditionally.

His beloved daughter, Chelsea Brooke Meier, predeceased him.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Mitchell and her husband Mitch of Cartersville, Ga.; his father, Bill Meier and his wife Colleen of Yarmouth; his brothers, JC Mitchell and his wife Karissa, Todd Meier and his wife Jen, Allen Meier and his wife Heather, and his sister, Stephanie Jenness and her husband Dan; his grandfather, Ernest Grant of Scarborough; many aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews.
