BRUNSWICK — Cecile A. Belanger, 86, died July 13 at Maine Medical Center.  

On Jan. 31, 1924, she was born in Brunswick, a daughter of Lewis and Rose Martin Laffely, and was educated in Brunswick schools.

She married Romeo E. Belanger at St. John’s the Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong communicant.

A homemaker when her children were young, she later worked for Healthtex and Fort Andro’s until she retired in the early 1980s.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Romeo Sr., and her son, Charles Belanger.

Surviving are her son, Romeo Belanger Jr., and his wife Billie Lyn of Topsham; a brother,  Leon Laffely and a sister, Eva Allard; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 16 at 3 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick.
