FREEPORT — Cecelia Liberty Austin, 91, formerly of North Yarmouth, died Oct. 31.
She was born on June 30, 1918 in Lewiston, one of 15 children of Marie (Fortier) and Alfred Liberty.
She attended North Yarmouth Academy.
On Sept. 20, 1941, she married Kermit Austin and together had two sons.
Over the years, she worked as a cook at Pineland Center, the Department of Transportation and Cole Farms.
A devout Catholic, her faith and love was the bedrock that helped her meet life’s challenges. She was a woman of courage who dedicated herself to her entire extended family and was always ready to help anyone.
An outstanding cook, she enjoyed making the birthday cakes for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Ernest M. Austin and his wife Susan of Gray and Linwood N. Austin and his wife Carol of Yarmouth; six grandchildren, Brett, Braden, Blessing, Breanne, Casey and Monica; four great-grandchildren, Ava, Cecelia, Hope and Holden; two sisters, Lillian Robinson of Harpswell and Irene Brown of Falmouth; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held earlier this week.
Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry lane, Yarmouth.
