CUMBERLAND — The cause of a water main break Nov. 9 on Winn Road remained unknown, although a boil order for parts of town was lifted the evening of Nov. 10.
Town Manager Bill Shane said paving of the trench area was to have been completed Monday.
School Administrative District 51 schools were closed Nov. 10 because of the water restrictions.
The Portland Water District reported the break near Longwoods Road (U.S. Route 9) around noon Nov. 9, Shane said. About 600 homes in the center of town were affected by the break, which required Winn Road to be closed and traffic detoured.
A 12-inch hole was found in a 16-inch ductile iron pipe, Shane said.
