NORTH YARMOUTH — Catherine Liberty, 94, of North Yarmouth, died Feb. 11 at her home following a period of declining health.
She was born March 22, 1918, in Perth Amboy, N.J., to Hedwig and Anthony Rinkowski.
Liberty was an observer of life. she loved school and was forever learning.
She found her way to Maine when she married Roland Liberty, of North Yarmouth. They were a devoted couple for 67 years until his death in September.
Liberty worked at Pineland, Coastal Manor and the Baxter School. She possessed a gentleness of spirit, had a great love of animals and was very quick-witted.
She is survived by her special niece, Judy Powers, as well as close nieces and nephews in New Jersey and North Carolina.
There will be a simple graveside service later this spring in Walnut Hill Cemetery in North Yarmouth.
