SCARBOROUGH — Carol Anne Kramer, 66, of Falmouth, died on Nov. 20.

She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and attended Winchester High School in Winchester, Mass. She later graduated from the University of Michigan.

She worked as a social worker, a teacher for Head Start, a small business owner, and a substitute teacher for the Falmouth elementary schools. She also volunteered as a counselor at the Center for Grieving Children.

Kramer is survived by her husband, Kirby; daughter Elizabeth Kramer and her husband Eric Chun of New York, N.Y.; son Zachary Kramer and Jennifer Blaise Kramer of Minneapolis, Minn.; granddaughters Madeline, Zoe, Stella, and Julia; sister-in-law Jane and her husband Clint Cogswell of Concord, N.H.; sisters Mary Stein of Denver, Colo. and Patricia Madeira of Cumberland; mother Eileen Shanley of Cumberland.

A memorial service was held on Nov. 26 at the Wilde Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave., Portland followed by burial in the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kramer’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718.
