Cape Elizabeth voters overwhelming approved $4 million renovation bond for the Thomas Memorial Library and elected a former Falmouth school superintendent to the School Board.
The vote was 3,587 to 1,798 to authorize town officials to borrow $4 million and spend as much as $4.2 million on the library. The library foundation would raise $500,000 for new furnishings and equipment.
In a three-way race for two School Board seats, the top vote-getter was Barbara Powers, recently retired Falmouth superintendent and a former teacher and principal in Cape schools.
Powers got 3,417 votes, while one-term incumbent Joanna Morrissey, a project manager for 21 Reasons drug-free youth programs, took the second seat with 2,231 votes.
One-term incumbent Elizabeth Scifres, a tennis coach, got 1,503 votes.
