CAPE ELIZABETH — The Conservation Commission has scheduled two public forums to discuss updates to the town’s Greenbelt plan.

Discussion at the first meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at Town Hall, will center around possible recommendations and goals in the northern half of town, from Scott Dyer and Wells Road north.

The second meeting, on June 11, will cover goals and recommendations for the southern half of the town.

The most recent Greenbelt plan, which concerns the planning and management of open spaces and public trails, was adopted in 2001. The Comprehensive Plan suggests an update every seven years.

The draft of the 2013 plan recommends expansion of of the existing network of public trails, envisioning a network within walking distance of any neighborhood in town.
