CAPE ELIZABETH — Assuming there is student interest and parental support, up to 10 high school students will have an opportunity to travel to Utah’s Grand Staircase National Monument for a week-long camping trip in April.

The School Board voted 6-1 to approve the Escalante Canyoneering trip with English teacher Jason BreMiller as a lead guide and Kit Hamley as an assistant guide. Principal Jeff Shedd he “wholeheartedly endorses” the trip.

The board also approved a High School World Affairs Council trip to Boston University Model United Nations on Feb. 24-26.
