Smile, you’re on candid camera
Police are closing in on suspects in three recent motor vehicle burglaries, two of which were reported on the same day and in the same area – Sept. 12, on Mitchell Road. The third occurred Sept. 15 on Shore Road. Lt. Brent Sinclair said vehicle burglaries are common in the town’s parks and recreation areas. But suspects are often identified through video surveillance when stolen credit cards are used at stores, as in the most recent incidents.
Artistic interloper
A motive is unclear in a vandalism case in which a perpetrator entered an unlocked home on Ocean House Road and drew symbols with a marker on several walls and surfaces. Lt. Brent Sinclair said the graffiti, which was reported on Sept. 15, was not the result of a hate crime, but he declined to describe the nature of the symbols because the case is ongoing.
