TOPSHAM — Camille L. Gagne, 69, of Cathance Road, died Dec. 20 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

He was born July 15, 1945, in Brunswick, the son of Camille E. and Laurence Theberge Gagne.

He attended St. John’s School in Brunswick and graduated from St. Dominic’s High School in Lewiston. After serving in the U.S. Army, Gagne graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1972. That year, on his birthday, he married Charlene St. Pierre.

Gagne worked at Drapeau’s Pharmacy in Brunswick until its closure, and then for 10 years at Bedard Pharmacy in Lewiston. He went on to become the pharmacist at Parkview Adventist Medical Center and a pharmacist at Wilson’s Drug Store, where he worked for many years until the time of his death.

Gagne and his wife also owned and operated the Siesta Motel in Brunswick for 14 years, until selling it in 1996.

Gagne was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, loved to travel and spend time at the ocean, and enjoyed “tinkering around” and solving jigsaw puzzles. His favorite foods were Maine lobster and Alaskan king crab legs. Family was most important to him, and he particularly enjoyed playing games with his granddaughter and watching her perform gymnastics.

Gagne loved to help others, and was a fourth-degree member of the local Knights of Columbus, where he served as treasurer and a member of its building committee. In addition, he was on the supervisory committee and later the board of directors of the Atlantic Regional Federal Credit Union, proudly serving for over 25 years. Gagne was also a member of the Maine Pharmacy Association.

He was predeceased by a brother, Richard L. Gagne.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene, of Topsham; two daughters, Christina Gagne, of Lisbon Falls, and Catherine Gagne, of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Kallie, of Lisbon Falls; three brothers, Eugene H. Gagne, Omer E. Gagne and Louis M. Gagne and wife, Anne, all of Brunswick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at 10 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery will take place in the spring.
