BRUNSWICK — Brunswick voters passed the $36.5 million school budget Tuesday night, with 779 voting for it and 490 against.

The referendum drew a turnout of 8 percent of registered voters.

“We are appreciative of the support we see in the community for the school budget,” said School board member Rich Ellis after the votes had been counted.

The approved budget represents about a 2.3 percent increase over this year’s spending.
