BRUNSWICK — A white man in his mid-20s allegedly pointed a gun at a teller working at The Bank of Maine on Maine Street on Wednesday afternoon and demanded cash before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police were called to the bank, at 137 Maine St., just after 2 p.m., Brunswick Police Cmdr. Mark Waltz said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect, described as a white man in his mid-20s and weighing 140 to 150 pounds, fled on foot. The man was wearing white sneakers, white-washed jeans, a “safari-type” hat, tan neck warmer or scarf, tan jacket, and glasses that “looked like goggles,” Waltz said.

Police remained at the bank at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday collecting evidence, and bank officials were reviewing footage from security cameras.

Waltz said the Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified of the robbery.
