BRUNSWICK — The third Run for the Sun 5K road race will be held downtown at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 24. The race starts and ends on the Brunswick Town Mall.
The race benefits the Cathance River Education Alliance, a nonprofit organization that manages the Cathance River Preserve in Topsham and offers local environmental education to all ages. Race proceeds will be used for purposes such as from trail maintenance, adult education and school programs.
Those interested in participating can register at active.com/running/brunswick-me/run-for-the-sun-5k-2010 or contact Maddie Purcell at runforthesun.5k@gmail.com or 837-5480. The registration fee is $15 beforehand or $20 on race day. Walkers are welcome to participate.
