BRUNSWICK — The Police Department promoted two officers last week.

Todd Ridlon, 39, was promoted from sergeant to lieutenant, while Paul Hansen, 31, was promoted to sergeant.

Ridlon was hired in July 1998 and promoted to sergeant in 2006. He previously worked for the Bath Police Department and served in the U.S. Coast Guard, is a certified instructor for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and a member of Brunswick’s Special Response Team. He also oversees the department’s Honor Guard and field training program for new officers.

Hansen, hired in April 2002, graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in legal studies. He is a certified instructor at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and a nationally certified drug recognition expert. Hansen has also served on the department’s Honor Guard, bike patrol unit and Special Response Team.
