BRUNSWICK — Police are investigating an alleged case of prostitution after a Lewiston man was found repeatedly transporting a woman to a local hotel.
Kenneth Walthers, 41, was issued a summons on July 5 on a charge of promotion of prostitution after police determined he was allegedly “transporting people to the (Fairfield Inn & Suites on Old Portland Road) for the purpose of prostitution,” Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said.
Police responded after a witness complained that Walthers was seen repeatedly dropping off and picking up a woman from his vehicle, Hagan said. He declined to identify the woman, who has not been charged, and said it is not known if other people are involved.
