Men’s work
12/22 at 9:20 a.m. A Collinsbrook Road resident reported a sick-looking, aggressive raccoon was in her yard. She wanted to know if it was alright for her husband to “handle it.” The animal control officer reportedly told her it was.
Almost a clean break
12/22 at 2:54 p.m. Two teenage girls were caught trying to steal $273 worth of bath and shower products from Walmart. The girls allegedly carried armfuls of the products out to their car and went back into the store for more when they were caught. Taylor L. Koenig, 18, of Leisure Lane, Durham, and Kelsie-Mae Christina Rioux, 18, of Auburn Pownal Road, Durham, were issued summonses on charges of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
Pizza pity plea
12/23 at 6:46 p.m. A Pizza Hut employee reported a man had broken his arm after falling in the restaurant’s parking lot and was now trying to get a free pizza as compensation. But the man denied medical assistance when it was offered by a police officer. The officer moved the man along.
